The school building is a chapel which was built in the 1880s in neo-Gothic style. However, the “Äußere – Matthäus – Friedhof” i.e “Outer – Matthew – Cemetery” was deconsecrated few years ago. The chapel has been completely restored by the organization “Arbeit und Lernen” during the last several years.
In 2011, the historical building was taken over and the rooms were prepared for educational activities and exhibitions, particularly for floristry as “Blumen-Werk-Schule” i.e “Floral Art School”. Practical and theoretical exercises and also exhibitions take place in the building. In warmer weather, the larger courtyard and the meadows under the shade trees are used for work. The site looks now like a natural park where our students and visitors can relax. Numerous wildflowers, grasses, trees and shrubs allow diverse configurations in combination with cultivated flowers and plants from the nearby wholesale market.
