Bundesgartenschauen (BUGA)
(Federal Garden Shows)

The Dresdner Institut für Floristik (DIF) (The Dresden Institute of Floristry), led by Johanne de Carnée, participated in the past years regularly in the special exhibitions for floral design in the BUGA (Federal Garden Shows). These special exhibitions were held in a competition form by the German Florists Association. Innovative ideas, planning and conjoint realization with the DIF-team brought us, among many other medals, twice a state honor award in gold.

Weihe Frauenkirche Dresden (Consecration of Church of Our Lady in Dresden)

In 2005, Mrs de Carnée received a particularly attractive and interesting task from an architect, sexton and pastor for the consecration of the rebuilt Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) in Dresden. Several agreements, designs, thoughts on architecture and symbolism, as well as events of the ceremony were essential to perform this task in accordance. With the support of students from the Dresdner Institut für Floristik (DIF) (The Dresden Institute of Floristry), a sensitive and telling floral decoration emerged which was appropriate to the occasion. “This task has given us a lot of joy.” In the following years, the DIF students decorated the Frauenkirche for Thanksgiving, under the supervision of Mrs. Johanne de Carnée.

Internationale Pflanzenmesse (IPM) (International Trade Fair for plants)

At the annual International Trade Fair for plants (IPM) in Essen, all master florist schools were given an opportunity to present themselves by the FDF – Federal Association. Together with the “Oh myeon floral art school” from Seoul-Korea, the Dresdner Institut für Floristik (DIF) (The Dresden Institute of Floristry), supervised by Mrs. Johanne de Carnée, created special work pieces to present their floral work.
